Institute Events, a division of Institute Affairs, comprises community information, the MIT Community Services OfficeCommencement, and several lecture series.

Our department provides information to and about the MIT community; distributes knowledge and best practices in event planning and coordination; promotes community within MIT and hospitality to campus guests; advises on issues of protocol; and produces events that sustain MIT’s global leadership in education, research, and innovation.

MIT Community Services Office

The MIT Community Services Office (CSO) is part of Institute Events. The CSO administers programs to strengthen the connections between the Institute and its community members. The CSO is located in E19-711 and is open Monday-Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, excluding legal and Institute holidays.

MIT Events Calendar

Institute Events co-administers, in conjunction with the Institute Office of Communications, the MIT Events Calendar. The Events Calendar is used by departments, labs, centers, and other community members and groups to promote lectures, performances, and participatory events throughout the year to MIT community. If you need assistance with the calendar, please email calendar@mit.edu.

The Institute Events office is in 7-121 and open 10 am to 3 pm, Monday–Friday, excluding legal and Institute holidays
